The Wooden Needle Newsletter - June 2025

Newsletter #58

June 2025

Want to know what’s happening at TWN?

You’ve come to the right place!

Once each month, we’ll send you our newsletter to keep you in the know.

Jump into June!

Looking for a project?

Some folks might think we stop crafting when the weather gets warm.

Not us!

If you’re looking for a warm weather project, a cowl makes a good one.

The Sonatine by Dee O’Keefe or Chestnut cowl by Hettestrikk would make great Christmas gifts.

What are you gifting?

If you’re not sure what to give, a TWN gift card is always the perfect gift!

What’s new?

Knitted Wit is back again this month with four beautiful National Park colorways: Bryce Canyon, Cuyahoga Valley, Glacier, and Joshua Tree.

It’s time for county fairs and cotton candy!

The June colorway of Emma’s Yarn has all the fun of cotton candy but none of the sticky.

What’s the UFO number for this month?

Do you see them?

They're watching you!

All those unfinished projects----

If you’re looking for a fun way to finish your WIPs or begin some new projects, this is the way to do it.

It’s never too late to join us!

Begin by making a list of projects– twelve or fewer will work.

Your list of twelve projects can include unfinished projects, new projects, parts of a large project, or a combination of the three. Each month, we'll draw a number which will identify the project you'll work on over the coming month. On the third Thursday of each month, we'll meet to share our projects and choose a new number. Just think! At the end of the year, you'll feel so good with all those FOs!

May - #10 (#11 is the floater this year)

*Next UFO meeting - June 19, 2025

What? UFO - Unfinished Objects

When? Third Thursday of each month 5:00 until 7:00

How? Work on the chosen number project from your list until the third Thursday

**For UFO projects, yarn does not have to be purchased from TWN.

What are you making?

Isn’t it fun to share your current project (or projects!) with friends?

We love sharing with each other and with our customers.

That Teena!

She’s done it again by knitting this beautiful shawl.

We are so proud of Hannah.

She just learned to knit and is going like a house on fire.

You go, girl!

Saroja has taken knitting to the next level.

Take a look at these colorwork socks!

Maddie’s sweet sister was able to visit us for just one day, but she wanted to learn to knit.

Kirsten's stay was short, but she finished her washcloth after returning home to Arizona.

Way to go, Kirsten!

One of Bookish Beverly’s favorite gifts to knit is the Easy Baby Car Seat Blanket.

Sparkle Girl Debbie’s needle is flying again on this only-a-little-spooky cross stitch project.

Our Workshop Wednesday project is an embroidery sampler book.

Boss Lady Gayla is taking her skill to the next level by adding embroidery to cards.

Needle Notes

Hello, everyone—

School’s out and it’s time to travel. Whether you’re going to the beach or heading to the mountains, we know you don’t want to leave without a book and a project (or two!). You can find a book right across the street from us at Florence Gail Bookshop. We’ll be happy to help you find a project that’s just right for traveling, so stop by to see us. We’ll be looking for you!

Take care,

 Gayla
