The Wooden Needle Newsletter - July 2025

Newsletter #59

July 2025

Want to know what’s happening at TWN?

You’ve come to the right place!

Once each month, we’ll send you our newsletter to keep you in the know.

Hot fun in the summertime!

Looking for a project?

Some folks might think we stop crafting when the weather gets warm.

Not us!

If you’re looking for a warm weather project, get creative with socks.

Pull out your favorite sock pattern and add contrasting heels, toes, and cuffs for a little extra fun.

What are you gifting?

Summertime is on the road time, so gift a cute Florrie travel mug.

What’s new?

Knitted Wit is back again this month with four beautiful National Park colorways: Yosemite, Sequoia & King’s, Olympic, and Grand Tetons.

Think about the way the ocean looks just after the sun sets.

That’s what we’re reminded of in the July colorway from Emma’s Yarn.

What’s the UFO number for this month?

Do you see them?

They're watching you!

All those unfinished projects----

If you’re looking for a fun way to finish your WIPs or begin some new projects, this is the way to do it.

It’s never too late to join us!

Begin by making a list of projects– twelve or fewer will work.

Your list of twelve projects can include unfinished projects, new projects, parts of a large project, or a combination of the three. Each month, we'll draw a number which will identify the project you'll work on over the coming month. On the third Thursday of each month, we'll meet to share our projects and choose a new number. Just think! At the end of the year, you'll feel so good with all those FOs!

May - #10 (#11 is the floater this year)

*Next UFO meeting - June 19, 2025

What? UFO - Unfinished Objects

When? Third Thursday of each month 5:00 until 7:00

How? Work on the chosen number project from your list until the third Thursday

**For UFO projects, yarn does not have to be purchased from TWN.

What are you making?

Isn’t it fun to share your current project (or projects!) with friends?

We love sharing with each other and with our customers.

Bookish Beverly really likes to knit socks, and she likes it even more when she can add contrasting heels, toes, and cuffs.

During Workshop Wednesday, Sparkle Girl Debbie is teaching folks to create an embroidery sampler book.

She's a great teacher!

Boss Lady Gayla made a "t-shirt" quilt with onesies.

Look inside the little drop seat for a surprise!

Isn't that the cutest?

What’s happening?

Celebrate a Crafty 4th with us!

We’re open tomorrow, Friday, July 4th, so bring your project and come join us.

We’ll gather in the “living room” where it’s nice and cool, and celebrate a Crafty 4th together!

You can draw a card to get 15%, 20%, or 25% off your purchase, and there might even be a little treat for you!

**Hours will be from 10:00 until 2:00.

**Please only bring crafting supplies that were purchased at TWN.

Join us for Workshop Wednesdays!

Every month or so, we’ll begin a new project together.

The only requirement is that you purchase your project materials here at TWN.

A basic knowledge of knitting will be needed for these projects.

You don’t have to attend every Wednesday--- come when you can, when you need help, or when you just want to join the party!

Workshop Wednesdays happen every Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 until 5:00.

Needle Notes

Hello, everyone—

In our part of the world, July can be busy with celebrations, traveling, and gardening. Sometimes it’s hard to make time for those calming crafts you enjoy. Whatever you’re doing, we hope you’re having a great summer. If you’re looking for a place to craft in the middle of all the busy, stop by the store. The chairs are comfy and the air conditioner is cranked up. We’ll be looking for you!

Take care,

 Gayla
